THAT is how long doc beef has been leading this league.

and with 1 week to go, he has handed the lead over to the surging kiss the wall team, who had been on a tear of late. winning 3 races in 5 weeks....only have 2 starters outside the top 12 in the last eighteen weeks.

THAT is how you win this league, my friends.

the good news for doc beef is that only 15 points separate him from the top spot.

tony stewart against whom next week? ragan, junior, kahne or newman? maybe logano? should be interesting....

it looks like high speed pursuit has locked in the 3rd place money, although he could always pull an A-game and start harvick for the 3rd time...you never know.

as for the bonus money, there are 4 teams in genuine contention....yours truly being one of them. however, according to my stupid "copy Luzr2win's 2009 lineup" strategy, that leaves me with hamlin. but so does eat my dust. look for me to mix it up in the final week to go after that bonus money....

i hate DQs....we all do.

for next year, i wanted to propose a rule change that if you forget to submit your pick on time, you automatically get the 43rd driver in the starting lineup submitted for you. if you have already started them twice, then you get the 42nd....and so on.

absolute worst case scenario is your driver FINISHES 43rd, but you still walk away with 34 points. 34 is a lot more than 0 and could make a difference at the end of the year.

just ask skidmarks, who DQd at daytona, and with autopick would have started dave blaney (who ironically finished 43rd).

still, instead of being 291 points out right now, he would be 257....

anyway, food for thought....but thought provoking enough for a poll to vote on over on the right side.

okay, race fans. we are in the final stretch. rusty truck's strategy is starting to take form. 10 more wins and i'm right back in this thing.

after next weekend's break from the action, the playoffs start. before the season i put a vote out on whether a DQ during the season should disqualify a team for the playoffs, and it was deadlocked 6-6, so the four teams with a DQ ARE eligible for the playoffs. good luck to all down the stretch!
