a new beginning

rules for 2012
here is the preferred way to submit your pick:

email rustytruckrules@yahoo.com

if you cannot access email, call 908.892.4492 and leave a voicemail, or text. this is my mobile number.

commissioner: scott goodman

rules committee
george bunca: hoganshero206@hotmail.com
chris nealon: docbeef@hotmail.com

for the 2012 season:
$200 per team
send money to:

scott goodman
207 hogan court
asbury, nj 08802

# of teams: 14

this year, like last, i have removed the $100 administrative fee and added it into the pool money. you're welcome. however, the commissioner's fee is still waived.

let's do some math, with 14 teams:
(200 * 14) - 200 = $2600

it breaks down like this:
1st place: $1400
2nd place: $600
worst combined total points (with NO DQs): $250
35 action (most UNIQUE place finishes between 1st and 35th): $100
43 action (most 43rd finishes): $50
bonus (HIGHEST number of points for the last 10 races): $200

here are the rules:
1. each week, pick a driver

2. you can't pick the same driver more than twice in a season

3. your selection must be emailed to me at rustytruckrules@yahoo.com or called/texted in at 908.892.4492 before the SCHEDULED green flag. if you do not call in your pick in time, you get a big fat 0 points, and a DQ. also, if you're a jackass and start the same driver more than once, another big fat 0 for you, and a DQ. also, let's say your traveling....and you don't have access to email, or you don't have my cell number, then call one of your raycin cronies and have them email or call me. just like before, i will NOT be tracking down pix prior to race time.

4. if NASCAR takes away points from a driver due to an infraction that affected the car's performance, that any team that started that driver will have the same points deducted from his driver. if NASCAR takes away point to a driver due to an infraction that did NOT affect the car's performance (e.g. cursing, bumping another driver in the pit, etc), any team that started that driver will NOT have points deducted.

5. total points will be the same as total points awarded as the sprint cup point system.

6. at the end of the season, whoever has the most points wins the amounts posted above.

7. for the "35 action", whichever team has the most UNIQUE place finishes between 1st and 35th wins $100. in the case of any ties, the money is split. for the "43 action", whichever team has the most 43rd place finishes gets $50. in the case of any ties, the money is split. if there are no 43rd place finishes, it's rewarded to the most 42nd place finishes (with ties splitting as well).

8. whoever has the LEAST amount of points at the end of the season (with no DQs) will receive $250.

9. the $200 bonus only applies to whichever has the MOST points during the last 10 races of the season.

10. rules committee members are there to answer any questions you have.

11. all future communications will be handled through this site.

it's over

it's over....finally.  skidmarks dominates like it was 2005.  congratulations!

- high speed pursuit wins $600 for second place
- chonk motorsports wins $250 for worst place with no DQs

- chonk motorsports wins $50 for most 43rd place finishes (1, with tiebreaker)
- skidmarks wins $200 for last 10 race bonus

send me your addresses/paypal accounts where i can send the dough and i'll talk to you all in late january.  happy thanksgiving, xmas, holiday, new year's, and all that crap.

skidmarks wins!

it's over, statistically.  skidmarks has won the 2011 nascar league, repeating his 2005 performance of domination.

he will take home $1400.

the 2nd place prize of $600 is still up for grabs.  unless high speed pursuit really shits the bed in the final race, it belongs to him.  but hey, engine failure, wreck, you never know...there are three teams within reach.

chonk has all but secured the $250 for last place, but statistically, shepard could still win it.

the $100 for the 35 action is quite interesting.  there are 3 teams tied.  it's anyone's to win in the final week.

chonk has secured the $50 for the most 43rd finishes (1), and has the 42nd place tiebreakers secure.

the $200 bonus is still very much in play, realistically, for three teams.  good luck to them in miami.

also, the conditional formatting in the spreadsheet got screwed up for a couple teams, so don't trust the yellow boxes for starting a team twice.  with only 1 week to go, i'll worry about it in february.

good luck too everyone in the final race!
